What to do around the cabin

The area around Escape offers peaceful countryside life, scenic viewpoints, cultural sites, and traditional Swedish folklore. Stocksätter provides calm natural surroundings, while nearby Bollnäs offers restaurants, museums, and cultural events (see municipal web page with event calendar).

Hikes and viewpoints

Lilla Bolleberget – A popular lookout point with wide views over Bollnäs, Ljusnan’s valley, and the surrounding mountains (available by car or trail)
Stora Bollebergets nature reserve – hike in the lush nature at the top of the mountain, the area was above the sea level after the melting of the last ice age which has given it the unique nature.

Hårgaberget in Segersta has a viewpoint and observation tower. According to local legend, the Devil once lured young people up the mountain and forced them to dance until only their bones remained – you can still see the rings where the dance took place in the bedrock at the top.

Activities in Bollnäs

Växbo Lin & Trolldalen – Växbo Lin is a historic linen factory offering locally produced textiles in traditional Swedish craftsmanship. Close to the factory is Trolldalen, a historic walking area in Växbo with preserved buildings and cultural heritage.
Träslottet in Arbrå – A visitor center with local crafts, cafés, and regional cultural displays.
